For the Steak:
- 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Rice:
- 1 cup rice (uncooked, jasmine or basmati preferred)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Garnish:
- Fresh parsley (chopped)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- Sliced green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, then cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add uncooked rice and coat it in the sauce. Pour in beef broth, salt, and black pepper, then bring to a boil.
- Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet, mix well, and heat through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, sesame seeds, and sliced green onions. Serve warm.
