Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Rice:

  • 1 cup rice (uncooked, jasmine or basmati preferred)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
  • Sliced green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, then cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add uncooked rice and coat it in the sauce. Pour in beef broth, salt, and black pepper, then bring to a boil.
  4. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
  5. Return the cooked steak to the skillet, mix well, and heat through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley, sesame seeds, and sliced green onions. Serve warm.
